graph data
Submitted by HannahReynolds on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 15:43In our comparison we looked at how WoW level compared to GPA. From our data it can be seen that the higher world of war craft players, above level 60, had an overall lower GPA than the lower level players. We made this connection by graphing the GPA’s of our population of 38 people surveyed next to their corresponding levels. We came to our conclusions after analyzing our graphs.

qualitative research
Submitted by HannahReynolds on Wed, 04/01/2009 - 20:35My research question for this project was what people do when you follow them around in the game. In order to answer this question, I entered the world and followed the first people that I saw. I followed a level six player named Coodle while he was trying to accomplish his task. He killed six rockjaws and never stopped running. He protected us from the first couple rockjaws but we helped with the 4th and 5th. We started following him at 2: 43 and ran after him the whole way but he never answered, even though we continued to laugh at him and get in his way.
Undead
Submitted by HannahReynolds on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 15:43In World of Warcraft, I am an undead Warrior. My mission in this game is to overthrow Lich King’s rule. Another one of my enemies is a human who seeks to purge the undead from the world. I am a warrior so I strive for perfection and am constantly working and very violent. The undead are a unique group, since most of them have once been living humans. After the transformation into the undead, many have abandoned their faith and religion, such as the holy light. Instead, we choose to put our faith in our queen and our dark science.
WoW is addicting
Submitted by HannahReynolds on Wed, 03/25/2009 - 23:20Most online multiplayer games are additive by nature. The fact that WoW is so popular and allows so many different people to play at once makes it that much more addicting. Due to World of Warcraft being essentially endless and the fact that it is constantly being altered also leads to a high a potential for addiction.
