Tauren Ideology
Submitted by bryce.tobin on Mon, 04/13/2009 - 16:24The Tauren race is ancient and nomadic. They focus on wisdom and the gaining of knowledge, and have maintained their existence without the use of steel, stone-work, or conquest. They only use natural items such as leather and animal products. Generally, they are peaceful, quiet and independent, but when aggravated they can retaliate brutally due to their huge stature and toned bodies. They are deeply spiritual, and the elders of the tribes are concerned with keeping the peace and maintaining order within the tribe. The history of the Tauren is passed on orally and through stories.

Orcs: Wisdom, Stength, and Honor
Submitted by Jack Jagla on Mon, 04/13/2009 - 14:05Orc Ideology
The Orc race is a warrior based society that values wisdom, strength, and honor. In fact, there are three valleys in the capitol city of Orgrimmar named after these traits. The Orcs fight with intense tenacity. Their racial ability is called “blood fury,” which increases their strength or spell power depending on the characters class. This incites the primal rage of the Orc, bringing out the fury that has led to their success as a species for generations.

Blood elves, also known as Sin’Dorei, are one of the five horde races available. They have a very unique history that is quite sad and full of strife.

The humans are very committed to their allegiance to the city. They stand vigilant against anyone who threatens their land. It states in the history, at the start of the game, that the army has left the city to go fight a war.

graph data
Submitted by HannahReynolds on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 15:43In our comparison we looked at how WoW level compared to GPA. From our data it can be seen that the higher world of war craft players, above level 60, had an overall lower GPA than the lower level players. We made this connection by graphing the GPA’s of our population of 38 people surveyed next to their corresponding levels. We came to our conclusions after analyzing our graphs.

Of the respondents, 27 were males (n=27) and 9 were females (n=9).The study asked them about their gender, age, hours of play per day of week, their major at the University of Denver, their GPA, their WoW player, and the character that they play most. Submitted by mattsidran on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 15:37According to qualitative research data, WOW players with higher level characters value gaming more than school. We found that happiness associated with gaming was directly related to character level. We also found an inverse relationship with character level and importance of school to happiness. The average character level was approximately m=55.44 which correlated with a higher overall level of happiness due to gaming which was roughly m=4.1 on a scale of 1-7. The average level of happiness due to school was much lower at approximately m=2.88.
Computer Gaming Exercise
Submitted by mhopkins on Wed, 04/08/2009 - 15:24In World of Warcraft there are typically more males that play than females. According to our quantitative survey data 27 people were male, while only 9 were female. Of the 27 males they played much more than the females surveyed. The males played nearly 22 hours a week. The females played a mere 17.5 hours. Furthermore, males were found gaming more important to their happiness than school. The members surveyed were asked to rate both how important gaming is to their happiness, as well as how important their school was to their happiness.
Study on begging
Submitted by nate.wolny on Mon, 04/06/2009 - 16:271. To improve this study I think that perhaps trying some horde characters would make it more extensive. Also he did not really need to say anything about runescape, although it did help as an intro it was not necessary.
2. To make the organization better i agree with ari that IMRAD would make it much easier to read.
